In these positions, Matt raised thousands of
gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations and government entities;
applied fundraising methods including direct mail, earned income, proposals,
new technologies and personal solicitation; and worked with hundreds of
volunteers on boards and fundraising committees.
Matt keeps up with the latest in fundraising
through teaching. He serves as adjunct faculty in fundraising, philanthropy and
marketing for several graduate programs, including at the University of
Pennsylvania, Eastern University, Thomas Edison University of New Jersey, and
Juniata College. His teaching has taken him throughout the United States, and
to Europe, Asia and Africa. He is an excellent resource for our clients whose
staff, board and volunteers looking for engaging instruction on their roles in
fundraising.

Matt has served in several capacities on the board of the
Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals
(AFP) and over the last several years has served on committees to organize the
Franklin Forum and Planned Giving Day events, program committee, and as chapter
secretary. He is a regular speaker at AFP events in Philadelphia and elsewhere,
and has authored books on nonprofit consulting and fundraising instruction.
Matt holds a bachelor's degree in Natural History from Juniata
College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania and a master's in Philanthropy and
Development from St. Mary's University of Minnesota.
