Lisa has helped a variety of non-profits conduct assessments as well as develop and implement strategic plans, increase their visibility and maximize their fundraising potential. Her work in this area is aimed at assisting organizations in overcoming challenges, advancing their mission or embarking on a new direction, and ultimately achieving their long-term goals.
Lisa has also worked with several grantmaking organizations developing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and evaluation tools, as well as managing proposal evaluation processes. Her grantmaking experience gives her a unique perspective into the expectations of government, corporate and foundation funders. As a grant writer, she has developed successful federal proposals that have raised millions of dollars for city agencies and large non-profits, as well as foundation and corporate proposals for numerous grass-root organizations.
Prior to her work as a consultant, Lisa served as Director of Communications for the AIDS Activities Coordinating Office and as the Public Information Officer for the American Medical Association. She also served as Interim Communications Director for the Department of Human Services during a time of crisis. She has advised clients on branding, positioning and crisis management and assisted in the development of a broad range of communications materials using a variety of print and electronic media. Given that an organization's success in attracting financial support is inextricably tied to its ability to articulate its message, Lisa's expertise in public relations and communications enhances her ability to help non-profits maximize their fund-raising potential.
