Philadelphia, PA., April 23, 2015 – J. F. Smith & Associates (JFSA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Hugg as the firm’s Practice Leader: Nonprofit Management.

Mr. Hugg has extensive nonprofit experience in Fundraising and Philanthropy. He has worked and consulted in a wide range of organizations and institutions, including healthcare, education, social services, environmental organizations and more.

While Mr. Hugg is known for his expertise in direct response fundraising, he has raised thousands of gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations and government entities; applied a wide variety of fundraising methods to his client’s needs, including direct mail, earned income, proposals, new technologies and personal solicitation; and worked with hundreds of volunteers on boards and fundraising committees.

Mr. Hugg received his B.S. from Juniata College and an M.A. in Philanthropy and Development from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. He is on the board of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He serves as adjunct faculty in fundraising, philanthropy and marketing for several graduate programs, including at the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government, Eastern University’s School for Leadership and Development, Thomas Edison College of New Jersey’s John S. Watson School of Public Service and Continuing Studies, and Juniata College’s Nonprofit Leadership program. His teaching has taken him throughout the United States, and to Europe, Asia and Africa.
