FORT WASHINGTON, PA, July 9, 2013 - J.F. Smith & Associates announced today that Joel F. Smith, President & CEO, was elected Vice President of the Central Board of Settlement Music School and President of Kardon Northeast Branch for a 3-year term. The election was held at the School’s Annual Meeting in Philadelphia on June 5, 2013.
Smith who grew up in the Mayfair Section of Philadelphia said, “It is a great honor for me to be part of this wonderful 105 year old institution. As public schools continue to reduce or eliminate arts and music programs, the need is greater than ever for institutions like Settlement to fill the void with innovative and disruptive educational programs. I am thrilled to play a growing role as a board member.”
Settlement Music School is the largest community school of the arts in the United States.
